The Carnoustie & District Pipe Band was formed in early 2008 by a number of local pipers and drummers coming together to create a pipe band for the first time in the vibrant Angus town. Over the years, Carnoustie has always provided talented pipers and drummers to successful local pipe bands, but for the first time it was to have its own. The process of forming a new band was greatly accelerated by huge local support as well as the generous sponsorship from David Murray Transport Ltd.
The band now run popular lessons and the first crop of pipers and drummers have recently joined the full band. The progression of the younger players as well as an influx of already established local musicians has allowed the band to look forward to taking part in the RSPBA competition season for the first time in 2010, as well as performing at events in and around Carnoustie.
For information about joining the band, or to book the band for your event please contact the Secretary (contact details above).
